About FEW

Welcome to my site! I’ve been a freelance academic writer for almost 20 years, and still love it as much as I did when I first started. I love the freedom of being able to choose my own projects; I love telling people I work at home in my pajamas; and most important, I love the challenge of creating interesting model papers of all kinds, from business papers to literary critiques. I’ve worked for about a dozen different essay writing companies over the years, and have recently opened my own site in addition to maintaining relationships with a few other companies. I’m interested to see how it will go.
I started FEW because I realized that after all this time, information about freelance essay writing, particularly in an academic writing context, is very hard to find. Most of what is published on the internet is so negative, one would think academic writers are akin to child molesters. I wanted to set the record straight, as well as better inform possible future academic writers so they aren’t scared away from an interesting, lucrative career option.
I’ve posted a few articles relevant to academic essay writing, and will continue to do so over time. Thus far, I’ve covered topics relating to getting paid, ways to break into the business, how freelance writers are distinguished from employees, what to do if you’re feeling burned out, and others. If I’ve neglected a topic you want me to cover, let me know and I’ll be happy to post whatever I can about it. Along those lines, if I cover a topic and include a piece of information with which you don’t agree, or about which you have questions, please let me know! I’m here to address any questions or concerns you might have.
Most important, I want this to be a community, a forum in which freelance writers of all kinds, including academic writers, can engage in discussion and learn from each other. I’m hoping this sort of interaction will help to break down the barriers that exist between us. I’m also hopeful that we can help each other become less trepidatious about branching into new areas, trying new ways of writing, investigating new markets. The internet continues to grow in its opportunities for freelance writers of all sorts to not just make a living at writing, but make a good living at it. What could be better than doing work you love, for a living wage? It doesn’t get much better than this.
I hope you read the articles I’ve posted, and please do take the time to post a comment and start the ball rolling on some interesting discussions. I’m eager to read what you have to say!
